Soup To Nuts: Recording A Cappella
An Intensive Week-long Seminar by Deke Sharon and Bill Hare
January 5 - 9, 2009

What a fun week this has been, with our first international student, as well as our first true local, and folks from all points in between!
2 songs in the can, a lot of good food, and one very late night where the class wrote and recorded their own song!

A shot through the glass - confidence on day 4

Matt thinks it rocks!

Soup To Nuts January 2009 Graduating Class L-R:
Chris Ng (Santa Clara U. Supertonic!), Deke Sharon (instructor), Ted Trembinski (SUNY Binghampton Crosbys), Alex Green (Tufts Amalgamates)
Matt Ryd (Alumni of Northwestern Purple Haze), Ross Matthei (SUNY Binghampton Rhythm Method), Suzannah Merchant (Oxford University In The Pink), Bill Hare (instructor)

Here is our class project - Say (All I Need) (opb OneRepublic)

Each time we run this seminar, we turn the class loose on the fourth night to pull an
all-nighter and come up with something on their own.  This time, our class wrote
a song based on something Deke had said on the phone.  Of course, he walked into
the recording room to take this call, so the "record" button did "accidentally" get hit,
and this one phrase, "stick it in the oven" just seemed to speak to the group....

So without further ado, we present the original "([Stick it] IN the OVen)" by the
S2n '09 class - AKA Ricky RARB and the 4x4s

If you've ever been to In-N-Out Burger here in California, you'll at least get the 4x4 part...

Lastly, a (very) short video shot late the last night of the seminar...
